Adams-Bohart, Yoon-Nelson, and Thomas modeling of the fix-bed continuous column adsorption of amoxicillin onto silver nanoparticle-maize leaf composite

Abstract This study focused on the use of a fix-bed column in removal amoxicillin from an aqueous solution by application silver nano-based adsorbents. The nanoparticle and nanocomposite were produced green synthetic approach. Column adsorption was performed at flow rate 5.88 mL/min, bed height (5.0–7.0 cm), concentration 20–40 mg/L. Adsorption data fitted to Thomas, Adams-Bohart, Yoon-Nelson models. color change light yellow dark brown showed that ions have been reduced atoms. Energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis characteristic peak nano-adsorbents 3.0 keV containing 57.29% synthesized nanoparticle. Analysis nanoparticles-maize leaf composite revealed its pore distribution be uneven with average size 7.44 nm. best Thomas model more than Adams-Bohart Yoon-Nelson’s Thomas’s increase led q o (maximum capacity) k TH (Thomas constant), However, decrease both . correlation coefficients range 0.6528–0.9797. results combo is suitable for continuous media performance lower concentration, higher height, rate.
